Carpet Cleaning Walsh Bay
Walsh Bay is the stretch of converted finger wharves on the harbour between Dawes Point and Millers Point. It isn't a gazetted suburb, but the wharf apartments have their own character and address, and people who live there say Walsh Bay rather than Millers Point.
The buildings are early twentieth century timber wharves converted to residential use, so the interiors are unusual: enormous ironbark and turpentine structural timbers, exposed beams, double-height voids and long shared corridors running the length of each wharf.
Fitted carpet is less common here than in most of Sydney. Much of the work is rugs over timber, along with upholstered furniture, and rugs need assessing individually rather than being cleaned the way fitted carpet is.
Access is as hard as anywhere we work. Hickson Road parking is limited, the wharves run a long way out over the water, and getting from a van to an apartment can mean a considerable distance along an internal corridor. This is portable extraction territory almost every time.
We plan the approach before the day rather than working it out on arrival, because in a building like this the setup is most of the job.

Walsh Bay questions
Is Walsh Bay part of your Millers Point coverage?
Yes. We list it separately because the converted wharves have their own access and materials, but it sits within our Inner City coverage.
Can you clean rugs over timber floors?
Yes, and it is most of what we do here. Rugs vary far more than fitted carpet, so we assess each one rather than quoting blind.
Can you reach apartments at the end of a wharf?
Yes. Our professional portable extraction system is carried in, which is generally the only practical option given the distance from any parking.
Do you need building access arranged?
Usually. Tell us the wharf and building when booking and we will confirm loading and lift requirements beforehand.
