Older sandstone homes and modern renovations often combine fitted carpet with timber, rugs and original finishes. We take care around the entire room rather than concentrating only on the square metre beneath the wand.
The sandstone that gives the peninsula its character also finds its way indoors. Fine pale grit comes off paths, garden walls and the older flagging, and because it is close to the colour of the stone it sits in light carpet without looking like dirt at all, quietly abrading the fibre every time somebody walks over it.
