The Spot is the village centre in the south-eastern corner of Randwick, built around the corner of Perouse Road and St Pauls Street. The shopfronts here are a heritage conservation area, with dated Federation buildings, the Ritz and a run of cafes and restaurants under the awnings. Behind the shops the housing is a real mix. There are Federation and interwar homes on the side streets, older red brick blocks of flats, and newer apartments closer to Perouse Road, so a job here can be anything from a full three-bedroom house to a single upstairs unit.
