Carpet Cleaning Denistone

Denistone is a small elevated suburb between Ryde and Eastwood, known for its outlook, its quiet streets and Denistone House on the ridge.

The housing is largely interwar and post-war on generous blocks, much of it well kept and held by the same families for a long time. Original wool carpet is more common here than in the surrounding suburbs.

Wool behaves differently to synthetic carpet. It holds more water, it can be damaged by the wrong chemistry, and it needs to come out at the right moisture level rather than simply being flushed hard.

Blocks are large enough that access is rarely an issue, so the truck mount handles most Denistone work.

Denistone questions

How do you tell whether carpet is wool?

We check the fibre before we start rather than assuming. It changes the pre-treatment, the chemistry and how wet we are prepared to let it get.

Can wool carpet shrink if it is cleaned?

It can if it is over-wet by someone who does not know what they are doing. Controlling moisture is the main reason wool needs a different approach.

Do you clean wool rugs as well?

Yes, though some antique or delicate rugs are better done off site. We will tell you which we think yours is.
