Dolls Point is a small residential pocket between Sans Souci and Ramsgate Beach, facing Botany Bay with the beach and reserve along its front.
The housing is mostly freestanding and increasingly rebuilt, with a run of newer homes replacing the original beach cottages and a scattering of small unit blocks near the water.
Newer homes here tend to have carpet only upstairs and in bedrooms, with hard floors below. That concentrates every bit of household traffic into the stairs and the upstairs hallway, which is where the wear shows first and worst.
