Ramsgate straddles Rocky Point Road, with the shopping strip and the older suburb on one side and Ramsgate Beach running down to the bay on the other.
It is a suburb of two speeds. The main road carries constant traffic and the shops and flats along it feel it, while the streets towards the water are quiet and largely freestanding family homes.
Homes on the main road take in road grime that a back street never sees. It is fine, greasy and dark, and it settles into carpet near the front of the house first.

It catches everything from outside before anything else does. On a main road that includes road grime, which is oilier and darker than ordinary household soil.
Can you get out traffic film?
Yes, though it needs proper pre-treatment rather than just a hot water pass. It is not the same as dry soil and does not respond the same way.
Do you clean above shops?
Yes. Access is usually a stairwell off the back lane, which our portable handles without difficulty.
