Carpet Cleaning Beecroft

Beecroft is one of the leafier suburbs on this line, much of it within a heritage conservation area, with mature street trees and gardens that have had decades to establish.

The housing reflects that. Federation and inter-war homes dominate, many carefully maintained, and a good proportion still have wool carpet in the main rooms rather than anything synthetic.

Houses like these are usually not dirty in any obvious way. What they have is the slow accumulation of years, soil that has worked into the base of a good quality carpet and dulled it evenly enough that the owner stopped noticing. Those are satisfying jobs because there is real carpet underneath to recover.

Access is generally straightforward with room on the block for the van. Where a driveway is narrow or a home sits well back, we run the portable instead.

Beecroft questions

The carpet is not stained, it just looks tired. Is cleaning worth doing?

That is exactly the situation where it is worth doing. Even dulling across a room is almost always accumulated soil rather than wear, and it is the most recoverable problem there is.

I am worried about shrinkage on an older wool carpet.

A reasonable concern, and it is why we control moisture carefully on wool and do not overwet. Shrinkage comes from too much water and the wrong technique, not from cleaning as such.

Can you clean carpet on stairs?

Yes. Stairs take longer than flat floor because each tread has to be worked individually, and the nosing usually shows the most wear, so we allow for it in the quote.
